古 之人 ， 其 知 有 所至 矣 。 恶 乎 至 ？ 有 以为 未始 有 物 者 ， 至 矣 ， 尽 矣 ， 不可 以 加 矣 ！ 其次 以为 有 物 矣 ， 而 未始 有 封也 。 其次 以为 有 封焉 ， 而 未始 有 是非 也 。 是非 之 彰 也 ， 道 之所以 亏 也 。 道 之所以 亏 ， 爱 之所以 成 。 果 且有 成 与 亏 乎 哉 ？ 果 且 无成 与 亏 乎 哉 ？ 有成 与 亏 ， 故 昭 氏 之 鼓 琴 也 ； 无成 与 亏 ， 故 昭 氏 之不 鼓 琴 也 。 昭 文之鼓 琴 也 ， 师 旷 之 枝 策 也 ， 惠 子 之 据 梧 也 ， 三 子 之 知 几乎 皆 其 盛者也 ， 故 载 之 末年 。 唯其 好 之 也 以 异于 彼 ， 其 好 之 也 欲 以 明之 。 彼 非 所 明而明 之 ， 故 以 坚 白之昧 终 。 而 其 子 又 以 文之纶 终 ， 终身 无成 。 若是 而可 谓 成乎 ， 虽 我 亦 成也 ； 若是 而 不可 谓 成乎 ， 物 与 我 无成 也 。 是故 滑 疑 之 耀 ， 圣人 之所 图 也 。 为是 不用 而 寓 诸庸 ， 此 之 谓 “ 以 明 ” 。
今 且有 言 于此 ， 不知 其 与 是 类 乎 ？ 其 与 是 不类 乎 ？ 类 与 不类 ， 相与 为 类 ， 则 与 彼 无以 异 矣 。 虽然 ， 请 尝 言之 ： 有 始 也 者 ， 有 未始 有 始 也 者 ， 有 未始 有 夫 未始 有 始 也 者 ； 有 有 也 者 ， 有 无 也 者 ， 有 未始 有 无 也 者 ， 有 未始 有 夫 未始 有 无 也 者 。 俄而 有 无 矣 ， 而 未知 有 无 之 果 孰 有 孰 无 也 。 今 我 则 已 有 有谓 矣 ， 而 未知 吾 所谓 之 其 果 有谓 乎 ？ 其 果 无谓 乎 ？
夫 天下 莫大 于秋豪 之 末 ， 而 太 山 为 小 ； 莫寿乎 殇 子 ， 而 彭祖 为 夭 。 天地 与 我 并 生 ， 而 万物 与 我 为 一 。 既已 为 一 矣 ， 且 得 有言 乎 ？ 既已 谓之 一 矣 ， 且 得 无言 乎 ？ 一 与 言 为 二 ， 二 与 一 为 三 。 自此 以往 ， 巧 历 不 能 得 ， 而况 其 凡 乎 ！ 故 自 无适 有 ， 以至于 三 ， 而况 自有 适 有 乎 ！ 无适 焉 ， 因 是 已 ！
夫 道 未始 有 封 ， 言 未始 有 常 ， 为是 而有 畛 也 。 请 言其畛 ： 有 左 有 右 ， 有 伦 有 义 ， 有分 有 辩 ， 有 竞 有 争 ， 此 之 谓 八 德 。 六合 之外 ， 圣人 存而不论 ； 六合 之内 ， 圣人 论 而 不 议 ； 春秋 经 世 先王 之志 ， 圣人 议而 不 辩 。
故 分 也 者 ， 有 不分 也 ； 辩 也 者 ， 有 不 辩 也 。 曰 ： “ 何也 ？ ” “ 圣人 怀 之 ， 众人 辩 之以 相 示 也 。 故 曰 ： 辩 也 者 ， 有 不见 也 。 ” 夫 大道 不称 ， 大辩不言 ， 大 仁 不 仁 ， 大 廉不谦 ， 大勇 不 忮 。 道 昭 而 不 道 ， 言辩而 不及 ， 仁 常而 不成 ， 廉清而 不信 ， 勇 忮 而 不成 。 五 者 圆 而 几 向 方矣 ！ 故知 止 其所 不知 ， 至 矣 。 孰知 不 言之 辩 ， 不 道 之道 ？ 若有 能知 ， 此 之 谓 天府 。 注 焉 而 不满 ， 酌 焉 而 不 竭 ， 而 不知 其所 由来 ， 此 之 谓 葆 光 。
故 昔者 尧 问 于舜曰 ： “ 我 欲 伐 宗脍 、 胥 、 敖 ， 南面 而 不 释然 。 其 故 何也 ？ ” 舜 曰 ： “ 夫 三 子 者 ， 犹存 乎 蓬 艾 之间 。 若不 释然 何哉 ！ 昔者 十日 并 出 ， 万物 皆 照 ， 而况 德 之 进 乎 日 者 乎 ！ ”

瞿鹊子 问 乎 长 梧 子 曰 ： “ 吾 闻诸 夫子 ： 圣人 不 从事于 务 ， 不 就 利 ， 不 违 害 ， 不 喜 求 ， 不 缘 道 ， 无谓 有谓 ， 有谓 无谓 ， 而 游乎 尘垢 之外 。 夫子 以为 孟浪 之言 ， 而 我 以为 妙 道 之行 也 。 吾 子 以为 奚若 ？ ”
